How To Prospect on Facebook And Get Results

How To Prospect on Facebook And Get Results

Have you been struggling to figure out how to prospect on Facebook and recruit effectively for your business?

You're not alone. And today, I’m going to share some insights that will help you start prospecting the right way—without being pushy or weird.

Because let’s be honest—how you show up matters.
What you say, how you say it, and how you position yourself in the market will determine whether someone wants to connect with you… or blocks you.

Focus on Building Relationships (Not Pitching)

If there’s one mindset shift you need to make when you prospect on Facebook, it’s this:

Don’t try to “get” people. Try to help them.

Prospecting is about building relationships—not pushing your opportunity in the first message.

In fact, there’s nothing more off-putting than someone who says “Hi” and pitches right away. Don’t be that person. Instead, be the one who adds value, makes a friend, and listens.

Sooner or later, if you’re genuine, they’ll ask you what you do. That’s your cue to invite—not before.

A Message That Actually Works

Here’s a sample message that builds connection without pressure:

Hi [Name], I just noticed you’re a new member of the [Group Name] community. So I wanted to welcome you. Great choice.

If you’re a cool and friendly marketer who likes connecting with other cool and friendly marketers, feel free to send me a friend request and let’s chat sometime.

Now imagine sending this to 20–40 people per day. Your inbox will start to light up with messages and new connections—no pitching needed.

The Goal? Make a Friend, Not a Sale

Once a conversation starts, don’t shift into “closing mode.” Stay focused on being helpful.

People don’t join products. They join people.

If they ask, “What do you do?”—don’t word-vomit your entire pitch. Instead, build a little curiosity. Then:

  1. Send them to a short, engaging video presentation
  2. Book a time to follow up
  3. Use a 3-way call with your upline to handle questions

This structure creates social proof, positions you as someone with support, and shows your prospect that they could do what you just did.

The Duplication Magic

Imagine your upline asking the prospect on a call:

“So what did Mary do to invite you?”

And the prospect says:

“Not much, she just sent a short message and a video.”

Then your upline asks:

“Could you see yourself doing that?”

And your prospect replies:

“Yes.”

Boom—duplication unlocked.

That’s how you grow a team that doesn’t rely on you doing all the work.

Prospecting Is Great—But It Has a Limit

While prospecting on social media is a powerful way to get your business off the ground, it isn’t scalable forever.

You’re still trading time for growth.

Eventually, you’ll need to transition into attraction marketing. That means creating content—social media posts, blog articles, videos, even tweets—and getting targeted traffic to that content.

This allows you to attract leads even while you sleep.
