How to be Productive – How The Hell Do You Get Anything Done.

Split digital illustration showing a man learning how to be productive—distracted on one side with lizards and open tabs, focused on the other with clear goals and routine.

How to Be Productive (Even If You Just Spent 2 Hours Patting Lizards)

I had one of those days wondering how to be productive.

You know the type—two hours in front of the screen, zero progress on my goals, and a quiet voice in my head whispering, “Well… there’s two hours you’re not getting back.”

I could’ve spent that time with family, recharging, or—heck—actually patting the lizards that run around my walls here in the Philippines. (No, “patting the lizard” isn’t code for anything. Get your head out of the gutter.)

And just like that… another distraction.

See how easily it happens?

Let’s talk about how to be productive, for real.

Part 1: Remove Distractions (Like Lizards and Facebook)

There are two types of distractions: off-screen and on-screen. Kill them both.

Off-Screen Distractions

  • Radio / TV – Turn it off. Pull the plug. Burn the remote.
  • Kids – No basements? Set them up with a movie (or a duct tape craft kit—kidding. Sort of.)
  • Room temperature – Too hot or cold = constant fidgeting. Fix the environment.
  • Phones / iPads – Silence. Airplane mode. Whatever it takes.
  • Noise – Close the door, use headphones, or set boundaries.

On-Screen Distractions

  • Social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… close them. You're not missing anything.
  • Email – Shut it down until your core task is done.
  • Webinars – Unless it’s mine. Then obviously watch it. 😉

Part 2: Prep Like a Pro

Be ready before you start. Hungry? Eat. Sweaty? Shower. Thinking “I’ll just grab a drink before I start” is code for “I’ll procrastinate for another hour.”

Set the scene. Get to work.

Part 3: Plan Like You Mean It

No productivity hack will help you if you have no goal.

Define Your Dream

  • Be specific. Income, freedom, health, travel—paint the full picture.
  • Know your “why”—so powerful it pulls you through hard days.

Choose Your Vehicle

  • Network marketing, affiliate programs, content creation—pick the model that fits your vision.
  • Don’t have one? Let’s talk options.

Set Goals Backward

Dream → Income Needed → People Needed → Contacts Required → Daily Action Plan

Make the math real. Make the work daily. Then go do it.

Part 4: Execute Like a Machine

Pick your strategy, build your routine, and do not deviate.

Here's an Example Routine (Mine):

  1. Watch training audio or webinar (inspo while I start)
  2. Facebook: Add friends, answer messages, build relationships
  3. Check emails for leads or follow-ups only
  4. Call leads
  5. Create blog post (batch content where you can)
  6. Do keyword research
  7. Record/edit/upload video
  8. SEO process using tracking system
  9. Celebrate progress, recharge, repeat

Final Thought: Productivity Isn’t About Working Harder—It’s About Working Smarter

Master your time and energy, and you'll be shocked by how much you can achieve—even part-time. Want to go faster? Stack strategies. Automate. Build leverage.
